This course is designed to teach the student the technical and practical concepts of applying relevant information obtained from Charts, Lists of Lights and other publications in passage planning, determine compass error using terrestrial observations, apply compass corrections to determine true course and true bearing, solves great circle sailing in determining courses and distances, plot position lines to determine ship’s position using terrestrial observation and write entries in the ship’s logbook using relevant information related to navigation.
